Some common phrases used in every day life of those who speak Urdu, but AI based computer translators might make completely wrong translation. 1)  کسی کو پک کر کے لا نا یا کسی کو پک کر لو For police minded people this phrase will mean to arrest some one, which is wrong, this is said to provide some one a ride to  bring to some place, instead of using a public transit or taxi. 2) کسی کو پکڑ کر لا نا  Again for polic minded people this will be to detain or arrest some one, but actually phrase is said to accompany some or to engage someone to bring to an event or to a place. Usually little children when upset, don't follow instructions, in that case elders hold children with hand or wrist to bring them to a place. This can be used for this purpose as well. 3).

Thoughts on interpretation of Divorce and separation in different cultures - Posted on June 23 of 2025:

interpretation of Divorce and separation in different cultures is different leaving aside the legal matters of it. In Western culture a man may be considered seriously flawed (if the divorce was not mutually agreed) and if the divorce was one sided initiated by the woman. And perhaps there may be punishments by various cultural groups for a men divorced by the woman, even if there was no legal reason for it.  But in Eastern culture a woman is a worst possible woman (unimaginable woman) who divorced a husband without a mutual agreement, a man is not considered punishable when a woman divorced a legally married husband. In Eastern culture divorce is always initiated by the husband to return the woman back to her parents, meaning woman was not acceptable. Perhaps if husband was declared missing in action, than a woman might initiate a divorce, otherwise not.

When someone says he does not go anywhere, normally parents make such statements to protect children from harm or from hostile situations. But if someone says that for an adult means they may be talking about a handicapp person or a dead person in some countries it may apply to women, because women do not go anywhere on daily basis only on some special occasions. So listeners should add a letter "s" with "he" to make it a she, i.e. "she does not any go anywhere" because she is not present physically.  -------------------- Various agencies setup by the govts (around the world) to fight and eradicate crimes promote that people should report crimes to the agencies or pretend to uncover criminals. A what IF scenario would be if the criminals work in those organizations (or if the work force has connections with the criminals) they will use the data to determine who knows about the crimes and criminals to protect the criminals under fancy names and policies and...

memories from the past. Posted by Engr. {(male) KhalidMahmood} on June 22 of 2025:

In the year 2000/2001 when I was in Karach and was hired by CresSoft a software company in Karachi (a VP of the same company who hired me advised me to leave from the company and go back in August 2001). During this time, I bought a Siemens GSM mobile phone (which not a android phone and was not a durable product), so whenever I got a chance I used to step thorough various menus and configurations to familiarize myself with the new product which required extended duration looking on the phone display with head down towards the phone. This was unusual for those who were no not aware of the mobile phone technology at that time in Pakistan. Once I was doing the same during a visit to one of my relatives in Karachi, i.e. looking on the phone screen (or staring on the phone screen as some people might say), by their facial expression/behaviour I could gague that this was not normal from their point of view. Now adays in Ottawa it is a very common scene to see people reading phon...

Bad memories from the Past - June 20 of 2025

When I Iived in Hamilton Ontario Canada L8V1V3, at the Fennell Ave. East address, many times it happened that people approached me around the building and spoke to me to socialize, Cheeze zaatar staff used to interfere in the conversation and tell them on my face not talk to me.  On one occasion a Persian Irani speaking person interfered when I was talking to a Service Canada counter staff at the Hamilton City hall. Service Canada used to open a counter at the Hamilton City Hall once a week perhaps on a Friday.  A middle eastern woman (perhaps, because of the dress/appearance) interfered with my bill payment or some similar transaction at a TD branch after Bank officer wanted me to wait for few minutes. Recently Branch was closed. These are just some of the incidences of such interference which were noticable by me on the spot. Perhaps something to do with the rights of Citizens in Canada when they were on OW social assistance as a recipients of the assistance (may be differen...

about "Banks" and "Bank St." in Ottawa - posted on June 13 of 2025

June 13 of 2025: A famous Road in Ottawa is called “Bank St”, for short commonly people refer to it as just “Bank” which does not mean a “financial Bank”. This “Bank St” is very long (nearly 80 KM) all the way from Wellington St. at the origin in the north near parliament to HWY 401 in the south. Almost all the east west streets cross or connect to the Bank St. People might cross “Bank St” several times during a busy day either on the Public transit, driving a vehicle or on foot to change/transfer the transit or for various reasons. People will refer to it as going to the “Bank” instead of “Bank St.” which may be misinterpreted as going to the “Financial Bank” so many times (if not aware of the details) which will be very misleading and very wrong. Many Finical Banks were also located on this street or around it. Published by Engr. {(male) KhalidMahmood} Ontario DL#: M01684340561220 Ph:(613)413-9812 Ottawa Ontario Canada K1G3P2
