My eldest used to say 20 years ago when he was in a school in Pennsylvania that he walks a lot. This claim was not based on his physical activity walking because all day he was at school, school bus used to come home to drive him to school, after school he was busy with school work at home and by night he was sleeping. Imrana used to drive the children for other needs, so they did not walk much. In fact he was reporting my situation because during those days in Pennsylvania I did not have a car and used to walk to get to various places like to Sears Oxford valley mall for work, Levittown libray and other places around that area because transit in the area was not as frequent. Instead of waiting for the transit it was better to walk.
He was saying that most likely based on the same last name "Mahmood" and he was getting my information through some unknown channels.


When I was growing up in Pakistan, I used to walk to do various household errands, to go to school as well as to go to our family business to help my father. We did not have a car during those days, no one learned driving in my parental family. I was the first one in family to learn driving in 1980 after completing the Bachelor's degree in Engineering and before traveling to Eindhoven (PII) in January 1981 where I used my driving skills to explore Europe whenever I got time off from studies. More was documented earlier on my website about it.

Almost monthly fire alarm practice in this building since I live here (August 01 of 2023, lease was signed on July 28 of 2023 in the presence of two witnesses). This is very unusual. OCH Ottawa community housing should look into the root cause of it. It is inconvenient for seniors to go out of the building in cold weather. This is a seniors building. Unimaginable to have this event on monthly basis where seniors live. Perhaps even student housings do not get so frequent for alarms. When I lived in USA before 2005, it was only once that I heard such fire alarm in the housing and only once at place of work. Never again .  But in Ottawa, in this Building this a monthly activity, perhaps due to the Fire departments training centre in the neighbourhood at 900 Industrial. Is fire department using this building for training their new hires. When I came back to the building by 17h45, fire trucks were not around the building and there was no sign of fire. ALERT !! ALERT - via rail mispelled my name on my ticket, I showed my driver's licence which staff at the counter did not see. Posted September 20 of 2023. via rail staff should be careful and avoid such errors which may result in legal complications.

Car #5 as was labelled on the outside of the train and inside #:3330 First time I travelled by via rail was in 1994 Toronto Union to London Ontario with John Lyng. via rail work used to be error free during those days. For several months in 1994 and perhaps 1995 as well, I used to travel weekly with JohnLyng to London Ontario for a software development project for London Life. (Some one might interpreter this error as change of name, no it was not a change of name, because I (the passenger {Khalid Mahmood}) offered my ID to show, secondly, name was entered in the system and printed on the boarding pass by the via rail staff not by the passenger.).
