When I lived in NF Ontario and Hamilton visited Dixie outlate Mall off Queen Elizabeth Wy/Dixie Rd, in Mississauga to see a acquaintance I met in Jubail (during my work with Sabic/IBN e Sina 1998 and Honeywell HTAL 1991). If there was authentic reason for some one's bag check than the person should be told to go to a bag check authority which may be a service or at the airport or train station to get the x-ray done of the bag to find out if there was any objectionable object, and fix the issue or take necessary steps etc.  but unauthorized people should not be allowed to open some ones bag anywhere.
